Getting paid is nice. Getting paid to do something you like is even better. But sometimes you have to do something you don't like to get paid. And use your free time to do those things you like. After all, only few of us are in a situation where we could do whatever we want without worrying about getting any money.
Sure, there are those who might enjoy earning as much as possible. Maybe for them also, the money in itself is not the main point. They just want to make as much of it as possible, and maybe enjoy it in itself.
But for most of us, there is a certain level of earning after which other qualities become more important than money. The first thing is to try to be able to do something you love, preferably somewhere you like to work.
But no matter where you make your money for a living you can hopefully always spend some time also doing the things you enjoy. It's another kind of payoff. Getting enjoyment from the things you do.
Sometimes you even need to spend some of that hard earned money to do the things you want to do. But there are many things that are free as well. After all, once we can guarantee our basic well-being, everything else is just a nice bonus to enable us to enjoy our time in different ways.
