Back up

My site is back up. Some pickup in the hosting platform or network caused it to be down yesterday evening preventing me from writing normally.

Luckily I have the 200wad as a backup for these kind of cases. Now I just need to copy my yesterdays post from there to here as well.

Owning your platform has its advantages. You can do exactly what you want with it. That is, if you know how, or are willing to learn. But you are also responsible to maintain it. Fix all the issues that might arise, keep it up to date and find out what's wrong when it goes down.

Hosted platforms don't have those issues. They are somebody else's problems. And with popular platforms those issues are usually noticed and fixed way before you even notice.

I have chosen to use both. And with a little bit of work, I managed to make the process effortless cross-posting to both of them. It has been working flawlessly so far. And in cases like this, I'm happy to have a backup plan for when my own platform is down so I don't need to stress too much fixing it as soon as possible.
