Is it all worth it

I but a lot of effort on things I do. I want to do them well and properly. And when I have many things to do it can be quite demanding on my well being.

I don't just want to do my job. I want to take the extra mile and do it well. Same with my hobbies. I know it's voluntary work, but still, I want to do them properly.

Is it really worth doing all those things and seeing the extra effort. I could well get away with just doing them. But that's not who I am. I don't want to do a good job. Even if it requires more effort.

The satisfaction I get when I have exceeded the expectations is all worth it. Even if nobody demands that from me. It all matters to me. And rarely that extra effort goes unnoticed. It really shows and positive feedback is always nice.

Of course constantly overachieving leads to a cycle where every time i start something new the bar is incrementally higher. I also need to make sure i don't burn myself out. But that is manageable as long as i don't have too many things going on at the same time so i have enough time and energy to put on each of them.
