Two more days

In just two days, Google is supposed to announce their next Pixel phone. The one I have been waiting for after carefully comparing all the available options.

Sure, it's not guaranteed. There might be some qualities of that phone that can still change my mind, one of them being the missing 5G. Of course, it's still the early days of 5G and there aren't that much coverage on that network around here. But if I plan to keep the phone for at least 3 years, towards the end of that time they should already be quite common. And I don't even know if I'd ever need those speeds anyway.

There is also that new radar technology, Soli, that might or might not work here in Finland. Such technology might be restricted in certain countries. And even more so as it uses special radios that might need actual approval and not just artificial restrictions like currently with Android auto which doesn't officially work here.

Then there is also the fact that even if the phone is announced two days from now it will take some time before it can actually be bought. And after that, it will still take several days in transit before finally being at my hands. And that assuming that you can even order it to Finland.
