Insanity

There is the saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. But without repetition how would we learn? Where should we stop and give up instead of keep trying? Wouldn't it be insanity to give up too early?

Few things are so simple that there wouldn't be any parameters that would have a chance to alter the outcome. Therefore, no matter how small, there is always possibility of a different outcome.

Maybe it's insanity if we don't try to change those parameters at all. Trying to do the same thing the exact same way over and over again do sound stupid.

But sometimes, no matter hoe many ways we try, the outcome doesn't change. After certain amount of tries it should become apparent that it's better to give up. The reward of the desired outcome doesn't justify the effort anymore. After that point, keeping up trying becomes insanity.

After many tries it's tempting to just keep going. You have already made the commitment with all those times, so why give up now. The next time might be the charm. What harm would it be to try just one more time. And then another after that. Insanity.
