Digital diet

I once again took a closer look at my digital media consumption, mainly inspired from watching the Social Dilemma documentary. This was not the first time I have done something like this, but for some reason there seems to be new sources of wasting time accumulating all the time. So it's probably better to make this into a more recurring occasion than being ignited by some random external stimuli every now and then.

While I hadn't accumulated as much noise to my lists to get back to the previous levels there were still notable additions that I identified contributed to the "lost time". With the exception of Linkedin, which I sort of get paid to follow I didn't find any of those new sources to be worth following any further. In addition to dropping those I was also able to have a critical look on the remaining old ones and was able to further trim those down as well.

The most problematic sources are obviously those that have virtually infinite amount of content. As long as the content is capped on a daily basis such sources won't become too much of a problem as they can be "done" for the day. But the platforms offering endless stream of content can end up consuming a lot of time before you even realize it.
