Release early, release often

New release of Writestreak is out! Instead of trying to finalize everything (and add just a few more features) I decided to take step back and stash away all the unfinished features. Instead I focused on finalizing and testing the ones that were already close to ready.

As some of the features were in themselves ready, but are somewhat useless without other features that were still in too early stage to be finalized for this release it means there are some options already available that don't actually do anything. For example you can now add #hashtags to posts, but they won't show up anywhere or even flag the post under the tag.

In addition to hastag support in editor there were some other minor tweaks and fixes to the editor functionality. For example clicking mention, link (or hashtag) in editor mode shouldn't follow the link anymore. Comments also received a small upgrade where they now display the time since when they were posted. This will only apply for the comments posted after the release.

The biggest and most anticipated feature is probably the one that will make @therealbrandonwilson happy: notifications! This too is just an initial functionality that will improve in the future. For now you'll get notifications whenever you are mentioned in a post or when somebody leaves a comment on your post. Notifications can be found under the events tab. No indication for new notifications or read status yet.

Another big change is the removal of need to login to see any content. Now all posts and user profiles are public and I have no plans for enabling any kind of private posts.

To see all the new features you might yet again need to clear your browser caches.
