When routines fail

I wasn't able to do my writings this morning due to technical issue. I didn't mind it. I knew I can write it later during the day. I have those remainders and everything.

But you would imagine having extra 20 minutes to take care of everything else in your morning routine would be nice. All that extra time, no need to hurry. But somehow that time just disappeared somewhere. I actually almost got late!

No matter what you do you can always occupy the whole time you allocate to it. There is no such thing as extra time, it just vanishes somewhere. So it's important to have a plan on how you are using your time. That way you get a lot more of it. If it's reserved for something, then you have time for that something. But it won't be a problem wasting that time to something else.

Routines help you to allocate and use the time effectively on useful things. But don't count on having extra time if you someday need to skip part of your routine. Just stick to the rest of it and ignore the extra time until you have done everything else. Then you'll have a clear notion of that extra time and you can do whatever within that time.
