There is a lot about midsummer, but for me the best part of it is that usually it's the rare occasion when all of my family is at the same place at the same time. And that place is our summer cottage.
It's our tradition. I only remember one midsummer when I haven't been at our cottage. There has been many people celebrating it with me there during the years.
This year might be one of the most quiet ones as there will be only my immediate family here: my parents, brother, wife and kids. It's nice to be surrounded by friends, but sometimes it's nice to be just with your family.
I just wish everyone would enjoy it as much as I do. But I do appreciate them coming along regardless. There might not be that many opportunities left after all when life takes us into different directions. Have yo cherish these moments while I still can.
