Such a seemlessly out of context random question I heard today. We were sitting at lunch with my colleagues when one of them asked me it out of the blue. It wasn't even to fill an awkward silence: there were, at least in my opinion, a lively discussion going on.
It would never pop in to my mind to ask such questions. It's just not me. It would feel weird even if I'd try it on purpose. But for some, such things come naturally.
It's not that I would have been offended or anything by that question. In the moment I answered the question and the discussion moved on.
