Training season starts today

I have signed up to a new kind of larp which is focused on fitness. In addtition to normal storytelling roleplaying players will face different physical challenges during the game.

Today we have a player meeting and kick off for the larp. We well gather together to team up and get to know each other. We will also have a personal trainer present who will help us set our goals, training schedules and diets.

The idea is to team up and do the training in groups. Having people with same goals and interests should be a pretty good motivator. And there will be a lot of peer support when one might have some struggles getting forward.

There were two base levels to choose from in the beginning. I picked the more challenging one. I'm not in a very good shape so it will be a lot of work to meet the requirements for that level. But I really wanted to challenge myself. It might be a rough three months ahead but I'm ready for it.

And the game will not be the ultimate goal for my fitness. I hope to continue moving and exercising actively also after that. Maybe not as rigorously, but enough to keep fit. It's just a really inspiring motivator to get started.
