Hyperspeed on a memory lane

It's one of my most vivid memories. Sitting on the green floor of my room, in my childhood home. Listening to the gray radio laying on the floor beside me. Almost 27 years ago and I can still remember how it hit me. Suddenly there was something completely different playing on the radio. Something that I can't still quite describe, even after all these years. But it still happens whenever I hear it.

I wasn't paying attention before, and it wasn't told afterwards. I didn't know what I had just heard. And it was one of those shows playing music outside the mainstream, random tunes that probably won't be heard again on the waves. I felt as if I had just lost something important, something that would forever shape my musical taste. Back in the days you couldn't just get into the net and check whatever you needed.

All I had was one word. Repeated over and over again: "HIPA, HIPA". What did it mean, where did it came from? And most importantly: where could I hear those words again.

But what was destined can't be held back. Eventually I came across an album called Experience by The Prodigy containing a song called Hyperspeed (G-Force Part 2), the HIPA song. There it was again, along all the other songs alike. And to date it's still one of my favourite albums and songs.

Thank you Keith for starting this fire.
