Putting anything on the web, be it your own hobby project or huge corporate service requires using many different services provided by almost as many different providers. Aside the obvious price, features and other technical aspects there are other things to consider as well.
I won't go into details or list any vendors as that seems to always ignite the flame wars. That's the kind of issue you need to live with when choosing your providers. There is no single point of view. Something wrong can be found from each one of them, their policies, activities or ties.
Easiest option would obviously be just to ignore all that drama and go with the cheapest one with required features. It's just so hard to ignore all those ethical and ecological aspects completely. They too have a value and especially in the business they might cost more via the bad press than an alternative service that might be more expensive but doesn't practice any (known) questionable actions.
It's also hard to find this information. Of course the companies want to assure you they are acting in a hood manner. The "facts" around the internet could be, if not completely false, at least biased.
