First game on the new table

Got the table pieces stained and lacquered last week and the neoprene sheet for the tabletop arrived yesterday so it was finally time to assemble the table. It might not be the perfect piece of furniture, nobody is going to mistake it for a professionally made one. It might look fine from the distance, but closer inspection reveals all those tiny flaws and mistakes in it.

I'm still proud of it. It's something I have made entirely myself, not just IKEA-made-self. And what's the most important thing: it works. The extra width gives the needed extra space to fit even the biggest games comfortably on the board and the lower height balances the reach and visibility over the extended width.

It's not completely finished yet though. As I wanted to get it ready for play I had to assemble it without installing the led lighting at this point. The vault is also still missing the cover to protect the unfinished and ongoing games from the cats. So still need to finish and pack up any games we play and go through the trouble setting them up next time. But before that, the chairs will be the first priority now.

Anyway, the first game (of MtG) was played today on my brand new, self designed and made boardgame table.
