I don't know where to start. There was so much happening today, many things that could hold up on their own post. But I just can't hold back it all and write about some parts of the day later. Or can I?
First of all, it was an office day. Yes, I went all the way to the office first time in months! I guess this was my 4th time there since the start of the pandemic. While there still wasn't many people there (and mostly the same I have seen the previous three times) it was nice seeing those people in person. And they appeared to be genuinely happy to see me as well. The best comment I heard was one of my colleagues stating "no matter where or when we go to lunch, I'll go with Janne".
After work I had more activity planned. While being around the hoods we had agreed to go to a shooting range there with my friend. Not just any range, but a 3D forest course e.g. a track through the forest with 3D animal targets scattered around the path. Hiking and archery! What could be better than that?
After shooting we headed for a coffee to an army surplus shop as my friend wanted to shop for a new hat there. It's not an ordinary store in many measures, but one of their things is a coffee shop (with some small brewery products available as well). There I spotted an interesting looking product from one of my favourite distillery: a ginger long drink! Of course I had to get a couple of those for tasting.
Finally, after we had finished or coffees we headed to the shopping area. While my friend was looking for his new hat I spotted something interesting in the "dump sale" rack (that's their returned / damaged etc. products sale section). They've had this "worlds best hoodie" under their own brand for ages and I've heard nothing but good about those hoodies. I've always wanted one for myself as well but the high price has kept me away. It's made of Merino wool so the price is quite high for "just" a hoodie. In addition to that my hopes of getting one died earlier this spring when they renew their line dropping the only colour option I would have wanted: the ox blood red.
But there it was, hanging in the rack waiting for me. It was a customer return, there is some wear over the sleeves, but nothing that would bother me too much. I would probably cause such wear to a pristine one as well soon enough. Due to that small defect the hoodie was almost half off! How could I have passed such an opportunity?
