Engine noises

It's been while since I have last time driven a car with an internal combustion engine. Today, while our car was serviced I got a substitute car with such engine.

One of the many benefits of the electric car is how silent they are. So silent in fact that the legislation has mandated that they need to have a virtual engine sound systems to not surprise pedestrians. After a while you tend to get used to such thing and just forget to enjoy it. They are still not completely silent, there are noises from the wheels and the wind for example and if you listen carefully you can still hear the low whizzing of the electric motor.

When I started the substitute car there were no doubts there is definitely a traditional engine under the hood. It wasn't even any of those bigger engines, just a small economical one. But it still made that roaring sound I had already forgotten. I must say I really didn't miss it at all.
