New games

I usually come back home from RopeCon with several new games. This year that was not the case anymore. Nowadays I get most of my new boardgames from crowdfunding campaigns.

This doesn't mean the visit to the con would have been any cheaper this year. I still spend my whole budget, just for other things. Mostly I hot dome new gaming accessories (including yet another two sets of dice).

I also had to get the new Finnish version of the D&D which was revealed at the con. It's not a straight up translation of the original material, but an adaptation of it using the open gaming license which allows quite liberal customisation of the content. In addition to translating the rules the makers also paid a lot of attention to make sure the translations are as close to the original Finnish meanings as possible instead of using the later popularized versions. Another big thing they introduced was the effort to make everything as inclusive as possible. For example there are no racial archetypes anymore.

If I didn't (yet) buy any new boardgames it doesn't mean I didn't find new ones worth buying. During the weekend I was able to play several interesting games that could be well worth adding to my collection ...
