Playing the long game

The benefit of retreating to a cottage for the weekend to play boardgames is getting those games that take substantial amount of time, focus and dedication to the table. It's hard to be able to play some of the heavier games along the normal everyday life.

Some of the games even take hours to setup. For example today we spent two hours setting up the game of the day. The first game took six hours. After that there was a debate whether we should switch the game. But knowing the game wouldn't be put on the table anytime soon it was quickly voted that we'd play another one straight after. Better to optimize the setup time.

Maybe there is still time for something else after this one is over...
