No words for emotions

Alexithymia is a psychological condition or personality trait where a person is incapable of identifying and describing emotions, others or their own. It doesn't mean these individuals wouldn't experience emotions, they are just not able to put those emotions in words.

Reading through the description almost everything sounded way too familiar. Of course I can't say I have it, I'm not a psychologist. It's also not the first condition where I find similarities from myself. Identifying and classifying different personality types isn't an exact science despite all the work that is put into it. The human mind just is too complex to be perfectly dissected into numbers and labels.

It's still somewhat comforting finding such broad classifications that might give a bit more understanding (and especially means to communicate) of my unique mix of the traits.

The match isn't perfect. While I identify myself on the struggles handling emotions I definitely don't lack imagination which is listed as one of the telltale symptoms of the alexithymia.
