Proper display

I have been looking for a place to put my new old LEGO collection on display for a while. The glass cabinets most furniture shops offer didn't seem right, were too small or just way too expensive. I was already considering building one on my own, but then I happened to find a used display cabined that was made for commercial use for a reasonable price.

I got really lucky as those king of cabinets usually sell for close to a 1000 Euros. This one was only a fraction of that due the shop closing down and they were selling everything as fast as they could. It has seen some life, but will be fine for it's intended use. Just need some cleaning up to make it shine again.

Getting it home was quite an adventure too. It's built to last so it does have some weight to it and there is also no way to tear it down except for the shelves. Transporting such a construct made mostly from glass was a bit stressful. I don't think I have ever driven so carefully, listening to every sound from the back of the rented van. It was a big relief once I wss finally home and saw everything still intact.

Really not looking forward the next time (if ever) I need to move that thing.
