The clearest water in the world

Our this years company gathering is held in a small cabin village in Estonia. The place is next to a lake where there used to be an old limestone quarry. The place also has some interesting history.

The lake itself, the old quarry now filled with water is advertised by it's crystal clear waters. Many colleagues have already said it's the clearest lake they have ever seen. We arrived here so late last night that I haven't seen it with my own eyes yet.

I have my doubts about the clearest lake part. But I'm a bit biased because I grew up by the shore of the "clearest watered lake". Our own cottage is located by the shore of lake Puruvesi, a lake that by some definition might have gotten it's name from the english word pure. Although more plausible solution might be sawdust which the lake's name is more direct translation of (puru). There has been a lot of saw industry by the lake for centuries. The only body of water I have seen was on the Adrian sea.

I hope the weather is nice and clear today so I can make the comparison myself.
