Test drive

We went to test drive the new Ioniq 6 at the local dealership today. It's the car I habe been waiting for ever since the first details of the Prophesy concept it is based on were published. It took a long time to get into production, mostly due to the redesign they had to do as the initial model didn't have much of any resemblance to the concept. Of course the concepts are always done with no limitations while the production cars need to abide a plethora of regulations. Despite the changes I still love the final design.

First impression getting into the car was like stepping into the future. Our current car isn't by any means and until now I had thought of it as really modern one. Not anymore, it feels quite outdated compared to this new technological marvel. I thought the old one had everything, but the innovation keeps moving forward and there are many new features in this one.

It's a bigger car as well, a step up from the old Ioniq. But it doesn't feel that big when you are driving it. It's still agile and handles well. Where the size shows is the interior space and stability on the road.

The only two negative things I could think of were the relatively low headroom in backseats and the size of the trunk. While not small the trunk is quite long and shallow and the opening isn't that big either. Despite these (small) shortcomings this might be our new car.
