All the bells and whistles

When I first got my hands on on our previous car I thought it had everything. Well, there were two things missing that I knew of, but it felt like there wasn't anything else one can hope from a car. After two test drives, driving the new car back home and a couple of hours of driving around just for the joy the old car seems so outdated. The new car has everything, even those two features I was missing on the old one. And then some more!

The thing is, the car keeps telling me about all those features. There are all sorts of beeps, chimes and other sounds reminding me about this or that. Most of those are for my own (and others) safety. Maybe I get used to them over time, maybe (and I truly hope so) there is a setting to quiet them. I haven't gone through the full manual yet. There are over 600 pages of it!

The most annoying feature is the repeated bling you hear when you are driving over the speed limit. It's not Hyundai's fault, it's yet another EU directive that mandates all new cars must have such feature starting from July this year. They just decided to implement it to this new model from the beginning, a year ahead.

It feels like I'm driving a space shuttle straight from some sci-fi movie. Not only because of all the futuristic tech on board, but because it sounds like I'm driving with R2D2 sitting on my wing.
