Travel expenses

While driving electric car there is the worry about range it wasn't worry free back when driving an internal combustion engine either. In extremely rare cases those might have been being able to get to the next station, but usually it was more about the gas prices.

While the gas prices are relatively steady (raising at constant rate) there is still some fluctuation in them. There is also some difference in prices between stations. So it was more about finding the cheapest station just to save a few cents per liter.

The bigger issue was pondering whether some trips were even worth driving. You'd really think whether it's worth driving somewhere just for fun if it costs 20 euros compared to just getting there when it costs just a few! Of course it also kills the excuse of driving somewhere e.g. giving a ride to someone when it doesn't really cost anything.

Of course the price of electricity fluctuates as well. Especially when having a spot price contract. You need to pay some attention to daily prices to only charge when the prices are slow. But even at the highest price the electricity ha still been cheaper than gas. And if you don't want to worry about that either (and give up the potential huge savings utilizing the super slow, sometimes even negative prises) you can always get a fixed price deal.
