It's a-me, Mario!

I watched the new animated Super Mario movie today. I don't know if it's that good just as a movie, but it certainly was a great throwback to various Mario and other related classic Nintendo games.

There was a lot of hidden references and fun moments in the flick. On top of that the soundtrack was a perfect mix of tunes from all those games and old hits back from the days.

Video game adaptations to the big screen are always challenging. What works on a game usually doesn't translate that well into a movie format. Especially the live adaptations are almost always not just bad, but horrible. The old -93 live action Mario Bros movie is a good example of this. It really didn't have much of anything to do with the games.

This new one was great throwback and definitely work for everybody who has ever played any Mario games. And who hasn't?
