Everyone can be an artist now

Since all the way back to sixties there has been hopeful predictions that machines would free us from all the menial tasks and allow us humans to focus more on creative activities. With the advent of generative A.I. it very much looked like the creative work is the first one the machines will take from us reversing those wishful promises.

But those algorithms are just tools. Sure they can generate astonishing results, but they still need a human to guide them. I do understand many artist are worrying after their jobs, but for the rest of us, less talented these tools are fulfilling at least the creative part of the promise.

I'm in no way musically talented. Sure if I had all the time from work to spend on studying music I might be able to create something remotely passable as music. It's also not something that even given all that time I would be too interested in investing that time.

With the latest tools offering A.I. assisted music generation I have however been able to already produce multiple songs that at least to my ear sound good enough for me to enjoy them. At the least, they allow me to express myself in creative ways and enjoy being able to create something for my own indulgence.
