Countless people die every day. Many from natural causes, but there are many who die from malnutrition, preventable diseases, accidents, disasters and acts of violence as well. News might be filled with only the biggest, most tragic cases yet still we can feel indifferent from such loss. They have become just numbers and statistics.
And then there are days like this one - a single death causing nation wide grief. There was a shooting at the elementary school. A 12 year old kid shot their classmate. That just hits too hard, too close. How can you even start to process such news? How can it happen here? Why?
I just don't have the words... Just imagining losing my kids... Just thinking about such possibility brings tears to my eyes. I can't imagine what those parents are going through right now, actually faced with such horrible situation.
