Picking the next book to read

I used to have long list of books to read. I even used to have tall piles of books to read at certain times. But I found those "to read" lists just ended being ever growing lost of tasks to complete, no matter how fast I was reading.

I miss the times when to determine what to read next ment a visit to the library and strolling around between the bookcases, picking up whatever books caught my attention.

I still do occasionally come across a book recommendation and do add it to my list. But I really try to keep that list as short as possible. Instead I usually just either look up other books by the author or recommendations based on the book I have just finished (if it was a good book) or just browse the recommendations from the store to sew if there is anything that picques my interest. So far there has always been something to read using this method and I have also found some really great new authors this way.
