big things

It's all just a simulation

I have to admit I got it all wrong in the past. All the arguments that we might be living inside a simulation. The thing is not to explain why we are here or what created the universe. That still wouldn't make any sense.

But the whole point is the so called ancestor simulation scenario. The assumption is that we (or the ones running the simulation to be more exact) at some point reached the point where running such simulation is computationally possible. Assuming the human level curiosity such computational power would eventually be used to run some simulations of the past.

Speaking of an important topic in under 15 minutes

At the end of this month I will be giving a presentation about Green Tech thinking at Drupalcon Amsterdam. I only have a twenty minute slot there that must include any questions afterwards, so I really squeeze down a lot of material in a compact package.

There is so much I could talk about this topic. It's hard to trim it down to fit into the given timebox. But on the other hand, it forces me to thing the topic critically. What are the most important things to say and how can I make the biggest impact.

I must be into something

Yesterday I submitted my session "Green tech thinking" to the Drupalcon Amsterdam. I really hope it gets approved and I have a chance to talk about this important subject.

The response in social media after I posted my proposal has been inspiring. There is clear interest in the subject. Green values are a hot topic of today and I believe I have a pretty good chance to get accepted.
