Not enough news

A while back I took a critical look on my daily news and article subscriptions. As a result I was able to cut  the seemingly endless list of topics down by more than 80%. Just scrolling through those took earlier a formidable amount of time, but now I had time yo actually read the interesting ones.

Now I have plenty of time at my hands. I could go through more new information. But there isn't that much of it anymore. Even the sources I left in my stream are either producing less content or writing about the COVID-19. I don't want to read any more about it.

Fear of missing out

I have been trying to trim down my daily news feed. There is so many sources and different topics I want to follow. Unfortunately, there is a lot of uninteresting noise on those channels as well.

It's hard to drop any of the sources. Every now and then they do each have some interesting article to read. But most of the time barely skim through all the headlines. It would be nice if there was a way to filter those other articles out from the stream completely. So far,  haven't found any good enough solutions.

Too little, too much

I follow quite a few different news sources that generate a long list of topics to go through every day. It's a challenge to keep up with everything I'm interested in all the time.

As such, on a normal day, it can feel tedious to go through the whole list for the day. There are so many posts created daily on all those news sites, blogs, subreddits and other sites I get my news from. And at the end of the day, I probably end up reading through only a few of those articles and discussions plus a dozen or so quickly skimmed through.
