OnePlus, battery and stuff

Before diving into the internals and software of the phone I need to talk a bit about the battery and charging of the phone.

First of all, unlike almost every other flagship device today, this one doesn't have wireless charging capability. That was one of the "nice to have" features on my original wantlist, but not required so it's ok.

While wireless charging is quit a nice feature it's still slow compared to even the more traditional wired charging methods. Instead, Oneplus offers what the call warp charging. In practise it means the phone is able to receive charge much faster than the regular ones. They have had faster charging quite a while now for their older phones, but now they kicked up the speed up once more.

While the battery lasts easily throughout a day with heavy usage, and could probably manage to get through two full days in light usage the best part is that charging is incredibly fast. You can get around 80 % charge in just half an hour. This completely changes how I charge the phone, just plug it in for a moment instead of leaving it plugged in over night. And even if I forget to charge it in the evening, just a moment of charging gives enough power so that I don't need to worry it running out in an instant.
