OnePlus 7T pro - recap

I think I have finally managed to write everything there is to say about the phone so far. After this short period of time using it I'm really happy and satisfied with it.

There was couple of things missing that I would have wanted from my perfect phone. But as none of the currently available phones offer everything I think this one is more than good enough compromise.

OxygenOS

OnePlus ship their phones with OxygenOS as an operating system. It's their version of stock Android.

Unlike many other mobile phone vendors, who add or replace many parts of the Android system, OxygenOS tries to stay as close as possible to the stock version.

OnePlus, the speed king

While I was still happy with the performance of my old phone I'm sure if I had to use it again after this time with the new one it would feel sluggish.

This thing is blazing fast! Good thing the screen has that nice 90Hz refresh rate so it van keep up with what's going on. Everything is fast and smooth.

OnePlus, battery and stuff

Before diving into the internals and software of the phone I need to talk a bit about the battery and charging of the phone.

First of all, unlike almost every other flagship device today, this one doesn't have wireless charging capability. That was one of the "nice to have" features on my original wantlist, but not required so it's ok.

Phone review, an interlude

What I thought would be  post about quick thoughts about my new phone has already turned into three part series. And I haven't even touched the internals yet.

Quote a lot has happened with the phones during the past three years. There are a lot of new features to write about. And as I also use it more there is even more to write about.

Just do it

After starting to have issues with my old phone I was faced with the choice of my next phone. The options were wast, but after a moment I set my eyes on the upcoming Pixel 4. I had basically made my decision already there, but then came the official announcement which both didn't deliver as much as I was hoping for and also raised some privacy concerns.

The hardness of choice

Having options to choose from is a good thing. But having too many options might get you in trouble.

It's easy to fall into analysis paralysis trying to figure out the best possible option from all the available ones. It wouldn't be nice to pick the wrong one and then regret it.

Honestly speaking all those options aren't usually that different after all. The differences might be small and meaningless in the end. But if those are the only ones distinguishing the options they suddenly become a lot more important.
