OnePlus, the speed king

While I was still happy with the performance of my old phone I'm sure if I had to use it again after this time with the new one it would feel sluggish.

This thing is blazing fast! Good thing the screen has that nice 90Hz refresh rate so it van keep up with what's going on. Everything is fast and smooth.

I still don't need all that performance. But it's nice when just using the phone for regular tasks feels so snappy. And, as I'm planning to keep this one for several years again, it's good to have something in reserve for the future. No matter how much optimization is done in the operating system level, somehow the new versions end up being slower and slower all the time.

Besides the top of the line Snapdragon 855+ processor and 8GB of memory one more thing contributing to the overall performance of the phone is the usage of faster flash storage. With all the MHz and GB race it's often the area overlooked. But filesystem performance is equally important and can be a bottleneck in otherwise high speccled systems.

But all that power would be worthless with a bloated software. Luckily OxygenOS isn't one. But more on that tomorrow.
