Handyman

Our trusty washing machine started to keep weird sounds while running. After giving a few manual spins for the drum it was apparent the bearings weren't at their prime condition anymore. After thirteen years it's not a surprise.

It would have been a shame to replace otherwise perfectly functioning machine so after s quick googling I found suitable replacement parts. And assurance it should be doable by anyone who isn't all thumbs. So I placed the order and started sharpening my tools.

Fast forward one week and the packet arrived. Time to take that thing apart and see what's it made of. This is actually the second time I'm fixing it. Last time the seal of the hatch started leaking so I had to replace it. That time I didn't have to take the thing completely apart like it seems this operation now requires.

I got to the point of actually removing the old bearings. But unfortunately it seems I lack some appropriate fine-tuning tools, like a sledgehammer, to ease them out. Need to find one for loan to finish the job I guess. With the delay I'm most worried about remembering where everything belongs once it's time to but everything back together.
