More, or less, it's the same

When I started writing I set a limit of 1600 to my posts. It was fine having a lot shorter posts, but the 1600 characters was the hard limit. No more than that, period.

Then came 200wad. Like the name suggested, it was about writing 200 words a day, minimum. So I adapted, decided to push myself to write over that limit every day.

A while ago that limit was removed during the rebranding of the platform. The new Cowriters didn't have any word or character limits. First time in my writing endeavour I didn't have any technically enforced limits for my writing.

I still wanted to keep myself accountable making some requirements on my posts. Not strict and specific ones this time, just the notion of aiming as close to the 200 words as possible, be it more or less.

Keeping some minimum word count is good. Otherwise I might let myself pass too easy. I don't want to have the temptation of writing ten words and being done.

Limiting the maximum length also serves a purpose. Not having all the time and space in the world forces me to think about what I write. I need to be economical with my word usage and it also makes sure the text doesn't start winding out too much.

Even with none of the limits in place I find myself still writing posts that end up being close to the 200 words on average anyway. They seem to naturally settle between 150 and 250 words with only a few outliers crossing those counts.
