I have been pondering about my role in our company. Last two weeks I have gone through numerous conversation with the people around me. Discussing about where I could contribute the most. And where I could push myself forward, focusing on things I'm most interested in.
I'm slowly starting to have a picture of my future role in my head. And luckily it aligns pretty well with the news of the company. All the feedback has been positive and I'm starting to feel I'm heading towards the right direction.
However it would mean leaving a lot of familiar ground behind. Stepping once again outside my comfort zone and challenging myself. It also means giving away a lot of power. I've had a lot to say on the areas I have been working on.
In the end that power, and responsibility would just be replaced with new ones, in different areas. Maybe even broadening them. I would have more possibilities to influence things in general. Guide our technical direction. We are at the beginning of big transformation and that needs a clear vision forward. A direction I could be involved shaping.
It's scary and exciting at the same time. I think I'm ready for this next step.
