That's it, I quit

I have a confession to make. For the past few months I have been smoking more or less regularly. While it hasn't been on a daily basis I would say it has still been a regular bad habit.

I used to smoke regularly, some sixteen years ago, until, after numerous attempts to quit completely I decided to allow myself an occasional cigarette every now and then. I had a strict rules for special occasions when it was acceptable. And for all that time it worked well.

At some point I noticed I have allowed myself these special occasions more and more often. At first, I didn't buy my own cigarettes. There were plenty available whenever I needed one. But after it happened more often I felt guilty. Not for smoking, but smoking other people's cigarettes. So obviously, instead of stopping, I started buying my own.

Now, I don't promise to quit completely again. I promise to return back to my old occasional habit. But I also promise to keep it strict again. I need to stick to my rules. And I need to be careful not to stretch those rules.

After all, its just another streak for me to work on.
